EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION 880 Clock Hours (7.5 months) Postsecondary and High School Students This program prepares employees to work in child care centers, pre-schools, hospital infant care centers, recreation centers or in-home care. During the first half of the program, students will participate in a cooperative work experience at the ATS Child Care Center and the USD 500 Early Childhood Center at Indian Springs. During the second half, they will have an option of working at the Early Childhood Center or finding their own On-the Job Training with the approval of the instructor. Students must provide their own transportation for OJT, be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, pass a physical exam, TB test, Child CPR, and first aid test. ATS students also have the option of pursuing the national Child Development Associate (CDA) credential through the CDA Council. Employment Opportunities: Early childhood teacher aide,
