The Kansas City Area Technical School is a Cisco Networking Academy offering the four courses leading to Cisco Certified Network Associate certification.

NET141- 42  CCNA 1: Networking Basics   $250.00 for Kansas residents

                        Tuesdays & Thursdays, 6─9 pm,  August 28 - December 6, 2007

Focuses on network terminology and protocols, local-area networks (LANs), wide-area networks (WANs), Open System Interconnection (OSI) models, cabling, cabling tools, routers, router programming, Ethernet, Internet Protocol (IP) addressing and network standards.

Students must attend both Tuesday and Thursday nights to meet Cisco requirements.
Do not purchase text prior to first class.


NET246- 47  CCNA 2: Routers and Routing Basics   $250.00 for Kansas residents

                        Tuesdays & Thursdays, 6─9 pm,  August 28 - December 6, 2007

Focuses on initial router configuration, TCP/IP and access control lists (ACLs). Students will develop skills on how to configure a router, managing Cisco IOS Software, configuring routing protocol on routers, and set the access lists to control the access to routers.

Prerequisite: CCNA 1


NET251- 52  CCNA 3: Switching Basics and Intermediate Routing    $250.00 for Kansas residents

                        Tuesdays & Thursdays, 6─9 pm,  August 28 - December 6, 2007

Focuses on advanced IP addressing techniques (Variable Length Subnet Masking [VLSM]), intermediate routing protocols (RIP v2, single-area OSPF, EIGRP), command-line interface configuration of switches, Ethernet switching, Virtual LANs, Spanning Tree Protocol (STP), and VLAN Trunking Protocol (VTP).

Prerequisite: CCNA 2


NET256- 57  CCNA 4: WAN Technologies   $250.00 for Kansas residents

                        Tuesdays & Thursdays, 6─9 pm,  August 28 - December 6, 2007

Focuses on Network Address Translation (NAT), Port Address Translation (PAT), Dynamic Host configuration Protocol (DHCP), WAN technology, PPP, ISDN, DDR, Frame Relay and network management. Helps students prepare for the CCNA exam.

Prerequisite: CCNA 3
