In Person Enrollment Only for Certified Nurse Aide Learn nursing care within a controlled environment. Includes psycho-social needs, the aging process, physical changes, common medical problem, body structure and function. Successful 96-hour completers are eligible to take the Kansas certification exam. (There may be an additional testing fee, depending on where students take the state exam.) At time of enrollment you need: Tuition (Book and State Test Fee included in tuition) Copy of driver's license or picture ID Copy of Social Security card (social security numbers are verified) Proof of citizenship (Alien Registration Card I-151) Passed 8th grade English reading (Tested within the last 2 years) Copy of Negative TB test (Tested within the last 12 months and valid through course end date)
The Kansas Bureau of Health and Environment requires all individuals to pass an 8th grade English reading test before enrolling in: Certified Nurse Aide - Certified Medication Aide - Home Health Aide
To meet this requirement, a 37-minute test will be given at ATS on the following Wednesdays at 1:00pm. The test is timed and begins promptly at 1:00 pm. Please arrive at least 15 minutes early.
Completion of the reading test and proof of 8th grade English reading level does not automatically enroll individuals in class or reserve a spot in class. Applicants still must go through the enrollment process. If you test at a test site other than ATS, you could be charged an additional $20.00 fee by that testing site. Refund Information: Full refund if you notify the school of withdrawal by last business day before class begins. Half refund if you notify the school of withdrawal after the first class session. No refund if you notify the school of withdrawal after the second class session.
